About Kelly
Hi I’m Kelly! I first discovered yoga in 1997, when I went to a class in my local gym. The gym was owned by Lynda Gregg, who had done her training with Marie Quail. I loved the practice from the start and I continued on from that first class, eventually enrolling on the YTTC at Santosha in Lisburn with Paddy Hamill. Yoga gave me the strength to deal with my own life and the challenges that I faced as a single parent of a child with a disability.
I enrolled on a pregnancy yoga teacher training course in Dublin, and realised that I had a lot of unresolved issues from my own pregnancy and the birth of my son. My main motivation when I teach women yoga in pregnancy is to inform them of their choices, help them find their voice, and also to help them discover their own innate power to give birth. Just some of the things that I lacked when I had my son. I can’t go back and change the past, but I can help shape the future! I did some work as a doula too, but I am not currently working in that area. Maybe I will come back to it again at another time.
I have my own home studio in Upper Ballinderry, and I am so grateful for this. I love small group classes and getting to know the people who come to them. I also love working with mums after baby comes, with my baby massage classes. I really hope that I am able to offer them support and a community around this fundamental stage in their lives, and the baby’s life too.
