Trauma Sensitive Yoga with Ciara Cronin
10 February @ 10:00 - 15:30
Trauma Sensitive Yoga with Ciara Cronin
Join Ciara Cronin for a day of transformational practices focused on mental and emotional health and healing. The day will be an introduction to the practices and theory behind Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and other applications of trauma aware yoga practices that are used to alleviate symptoms of PTSD, stress, anxiety, addiction, trauma and other mental and emotional imbalances.
This day workshop with Ciara will introduce participants to the techniques and practices within the yoga tradition that are therapeutic for symptoms of trauma and psychological and emotional distress. It promises to be a day of nourishing and soothing practices balanced with some theory sessions to give an understanding of how the latest findings in neuroscience and medical studies have validated the enormous physical and emotional benefits of the ancient teachings of yoga for mental and emotional healing and wellbeing.
As a yoga teacher-trainer and mindfulness-based psychotherapist, Ciara has led 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher trainings for over 20 years and has graduated over 300 yoga teachers. She founded Yoga.ie and the YogaRoom in Dublin, one of Ireland’s first dedicated yoga studios in 2005. She has developed a curriculum of trainings on yoga.ie in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and meditation, educating yoga teachers and mental health professionals in yoga and mindfulness for trauma. In her work as a yoga teacher, she has experience applying yoga practices within mental health support services for over 25 years. She is in private practice as a psychotherapist and also works within the mental health services in Dublin with groups teaching yoga and mindfulness for trauma.
