Learning outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Understand the potential importance of their role in the lives of children and young people and what they can do to safeguard them. We will be looking at how participants can be that listening person in a child’s life and a role model by their attitude
- Identify best practice procedures and behaviour to safeguard children and young people in sport. We will take time to look at some issues specifically like transport and photography for example.
Recognise and respond if abuse/poor practice is suspected. The majority of safeguarding issues participants will deal with in most settings/clubs will be at a poor practice threshold, but it is essential participants are clear on how they should respond to these and if you do they a child abuse concern.
